IB Staff Retreat and Small Business Exhibition – Fall Update

So far, the Igniting Business team has had a great start to the fall season! In mid-October, a few members of the IB staff we're able to meet in Lee's Summit on a Saturday for a day of team bonding.

After breakfast and catching up with one another, we discussed how each team member can use LinkedIn effectively, especially since there are so many hidden features and benefits that don't get utilized as much as they should. What most people don't realize is LinkedIn is right behind Facebook and Twitter in terms of unique monthly visitors, making it a great marketing tool, especially for B2B relationships. Next was a trip to the Liberty Corn Maze – the corn maze design theme for 2015 was "American Royal," celebrating the Kansas City Heritage. Lastly, we ventured back to Ben and Caitlin's apartment to play branding games and eat dinner together. It was definitely a day to remember.

Small Business Exhibition

Small Business Exhibition 2015

Our second fall activity was participating in the 2015 Small Business Exhibition – we had a great time! Aside from making the passport flyer, we also had our own booth which gave us the opportunity to meet and talk with other small businesses. It's great to see all the support small business receive in the Columbia area.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth, visited with us, and participated in the raffle! We would also like to thank the Parkade Center for providing such a great venue. We've experienced an overwhelmingly positive amount of community support, and events like the Small Business Exhibition remind us why we strive to focus on the success of small businesses.
